Green cast and election day hopes

Got the splint thing off today and saw my arm for the first time since Friday. The incision is about an inch long. Much bigger than I thought it would be. Was nice to have my arm free for about 30 minutes before I got the green cast. It is cool looking - or at least my boys thought so. The doctor said my cyst was really deep. His exact words were "I was digging to China it was so deep!" He said it was wrapped around a vein, but fortunately not the artery. He did close off that vein, but he could still feel my pulse in the normal place, which he said was a good sign. I go back on the 16th to get the cast off and get a removable splint.

Here is me and Hot Rod today with my green cast, oh yeah, and my darker hair. It is hard to completely distinguish in this pic, but a big difference from the blonde. AoD hates it, but I like it.

Four years ago I camped out in the den floor with my pillows, blanket and the remote control. I watched a loopy Tim Russert and Tom Brokaw into the next day. I'm really hoping we have a clear winner this year. I'll be up watching and probably periodically blogging. Not sure about that.

That was one consideration in selecting green :) Plus, it is my favorite color. And, thanks. AoD did say the hair color really complements my green eyes.

You could threaten to use that cast as a club when dealing with the boys!

I already threatened AoD with it at lunch. It is hard like a club.

Does it hurt to type? That vein thing bugs me. I had a vein in my leg sealed off after a deep wound, and I'm paying for it today. Oh, love the hair. So many women over thirty are going to shades of red, you'd think it's the default hair color for women. Try finding a woman in the mall by looking for her red hair, sometime.

It does hurt to type. I guess I'm glad I took care of the cyst now instead of letting it go further to wrap around the artery.

And AoD - you don't have to SAY you hate it. I can see it in your eyes that you don't like it baby.

Uh oh, AoD, now you can't even look at her. Better wear Stevie Wonder glass when she can see your face.

Thanks Jen. And Bane, pppthtpptthptpttt. AoD, you can start by telling me how beautiful I am regardless of my hair color. You can shower me with unexpected gifts, flowers and cards for my birthday and our date on Friday.

Hmm, I'll think of a few other things, too.
