I'm a breeder
I have been so offended that I'm almost speechless and I know this has to surprise anyone who knows me or reads my blog. It all started with a stupid little email joke earlier this week at Bane Rants. It started a stream of offensive comments that ranged from why women shouldn't be allowed to vote to why we are incapable of running our own lives, we're just hormonal blathering idiots. The next focus of the rant went on about how some women are just "breeders" because we chose to have children and be moms. *gasp* What a concept?!
I can't even see straight when it comes to this topic. Women can be hormonal, but we are designed that way. It doesn't keep us from being able to run households or corporations any better or worse than a man. I tend to think men can lose some of their focus when they're not getting laid. They get crabby and hateful in ways worse than the most PMS-filled woman.
But, I don't want to rag on men. I love them. I just hate those people who can't see both sides of an issue. I don't have any opinion of women who chose not to have children. Sometimes I envy them and sometimes I feel sorry for them and other times I have no opinion whatsoever. Who cares if someone wants to have kids or not? Why should they care if I want to have children? Why do they feel the need to make ugly remarks at my choices? Besides, where would we all be without mothers? Nowhere.

Well, I would comment, but I have a tattoo. Ergo, I'm nothing but a disease-ridden piece of filth whose opinion doesn't matter.
Now maybe you understand my wariness about that place.

Followup: Kinda pisses you off when they lop a baseball through YOUR window, eh? Not trying to get your back up, just a reminder of how upset I got and now maybe you can understand why. :)

You two were surprised to find this behavior at Bane's?!
Think of his site as a private club. Sure they will let you in, but you have to sign a waiver that you can't be offended by the goings on there.

Point taken.
However, you'd think the sign out front would say "No women, no foreigners and no opinions other than mine will be tolerated."

Kat,
I always figure that is explicitly accepted when you visit anyone blogs, or forums, or newsgroups that are moderated.
It is good to remember the old adage about opinions and the lower body. The WWW has been open proof of this since it went public.
Just take it with a grain of salt- I do, even though I get my butt chapped on many of occasion.

I don't fault Bane as much as the idiots who commented on his website. We're all entitled to our opinions, it is just sad that many jump to conclusions without knowing someone.

So, to clarify, folks are jumping to conclusions about me jumping to conclusions? Oh. Okay. And you blame me for Nate? I let Nate speak for himself. I would smack him in person, but I'm more tolerant on the blog, considering the medium. My place isn't a private club, nor do you need a waiver. If you can't take honest opinion, it's probably not the best place for you. It's pretty much a free-fire zone. I've only banned a couple of people, and then only for boring or directly insulting me. And I go back every few weeks and lift all my bans, anyway. So far, the only person who has been consistently snotty and annoying, besides Nate, is Kat. Go figure. Now, let the pouting begin!

Probably should have qualified my analogy better. I meant it to mean that Bane's is a free fire zone and anyone who enters should beware.

As a rule, I don't pout at something I find funny.
