So this is how liberty dies ... with thunderous applause.

World Cup Fever

Yes, we are a family whose interest in soccer increases each year. We coach two teams now, will be three teams in the spring as Little Bit joins in. Hubby refs. He was able to do his first ODP (Olympic Development Program) game Friday night. That is a pretty big deal for him.

So, we've taken more interest in the past few years in the World Cup. It is great to watch good soccer.

Of course, you know me. I love my sports, but I also love watching the testosterone-laden men who play them.

Watching Portugal vs. Angola now. Discovered another reason to love the game: Portugal's Christian Ronaldo.
And, then this more coy shot.

I think I'm a fan of Portugal now. Portuguese is a romance language.

I obviously need to start paying attention while Sweetie is watching the games, as I've apparently been missing out on some fine viewing opportunities.

While I am not too much into the male viewing aspect, I will say that I have been enjoying the games! I watched Argentina vs Ivory Coast the other day and Iran vs Mexico today.

I do like the fact that I will get to watch the USA play the Czech team at 11am Monday...at least this go around I am not having to get up at 3am to watch!

For the record...while I am rooting for the USA, my other teams that I am rooting for are England and Germany.

We're cheering for Australia, too. They won 3-1 today.

I started watching "football" because my fiance (who is Portuguese) introduced me to it while in Portugal a few years ago. I was pleasantly surprised when I found that the players are pretty easy on the eyes. lol! Not just nice looking players but a beautiful country too with lots o' good looking citizens! :D
