Army of Mom

So this is how liberty dies ... with thunderous applause.

Black Friday

Well, I had vowed I would never EVER get up at O Dark Thirty to shop on the day after Thanksgiving. But, I did. My camera is dying, so I needed a new one. I found this Kodak EasyShare 6.1MP Digital Camera for $189 at Best Buy.

So, I got that and a new 1 GB memory card for $14.99 and Dodgeball DVD for $4.99 along with a new Keith Urban CD for about $6.99.

Then, I ventured over to Bed, Bath and Beyond and get a new teamaker, some mixing bowls (because I had to keep washing the same one to use over and over while cooking yesterday) and a new measuring cup.

I figured I was out already, so why not go to WalMart and get Stinkerbelle a few things from the grandparents. I'm shopping for both sets. She got a Cabbage Patch baby she wanted complete with curly hair and brown eyes and a Play-Doh craft table with Play-Doh, markers and Crayons.
The is the Snuggle Bean Cabbage Patch that I got Little Bit. She was asking for one of these. It was only $10!!! Can't beat that.

I left the house at 5:40 a.m. and made it home around 8 a.m. My dear honey let me sleep till about 11:30 and then we took the kids to go see Happy Feet. It is a dear, dear movie. I loved it. But, I LOVE penguins, too, so I've been looking forward to this movie for more than a year. There was a really groovy tease of the Harry Potter: Order of the Phoenix movie coming out next summer, too.

Now, we're off to see my parents, my sister-in-law and my nephews. Since my brother's divorce, we figure it won't be too much longer before we don't see the boys as often. Plus, my oldest nephew just turned 17 (I think) and he is going to be doing his own thing soon enough.

Those are some great bargains, especially since you needed a new camera.
How do you shop for grandparents? Do they send a check for reimbursement?

You are braver than I am, to be going out today.
I sat at home and finished the baby afghan which has been driving me crazy the last couple weeks. I'm soon onward to a much easier yarn project.

I got my Girlfriend that 80 dollar camera at bestbuy, and the exact same SD card. (Great minds I guess). I also picked up Flight Simulator X for 25 bucks, it was a day of wins. It was just to bad I had to stand in line for 3 hours :(

I looked at the $80 camera, too. But, we decided to go with the more expensive camera with more features as much as I use the dadgum thing. And, yes, it was a day of wins! I was only in line for 20 to 25 minutes before I got in, but the checkout line sucked ass. I saw them put up the display where I got my camera while I was waiting to pay, so I just barely made it!

"I bought a much cheaper camera, but that was the sole reason for me being out on Black Friday...I loathed it...

Walmart let people do their shopping online and still get the deals. Just a suggestion for next year. I got my little girl the cabbage patch kid and play doh table from home. Walmart and sears were the only stores I know of that you could buy online. Sure I had to pay shipping but I think it was worth the lack of agrravation.
