Hurricane looming, in-laws safe

Just got word that my mom-in-law JUST arrived in Atlanta this morning about 9:30 a.m. whatever time zone that is on the east coast. (time zones are so not my forte). This is the kind of traffic that made the trip take so long.

Army of Dad may recognize that as the 528 expressway in Cocoa Beach, Florida. Authorities told 2.5 million people to evacuate their homes and resorts along the Florida coast.

Mom-in-law said the fridge was full of bottles of water of all sizes. The idea is to keep the fridge full, so it will stay colder longer if the power goes out. The freezer is full of ice for the same reason. She bought rubbermaid containers, etc, to store family photos and other treasures in, so if the water comes in the house, hopefully her possessions will be protected. She was planning to take as much as she could with her, but in a compact car, that may not be possible with at least one adult son and a pooch in the car, too.

I will, hopefully, talk to her later today and provide an update.

Yes time zones are not AoM's friends. (I won't say more than that)

Ah, 528...the road to paradise...wish I was there now, er, maybe not right now, but you get the idea.

    Kat, fingers are crossed.
