Mudslide drama

Typically the mudslides in California don't phase me too much. I figure that you know it is a danger and you choose to live there, you deal with the consequences. It is like living on the coast and bracing for hurricanes. You know that the odds are you'll have to battle them and you choose to do just that in exchange for the beauty, convenience, etc.

Then, you see a picture like this.

This picture just got me. The guy is Alberto Ortega of the U.S. Forest Service. The baby was rescued from the San Dimas Creek after falling into the water with her mother and a rescuer in San Dimas, Calif. The caption said no injuries were reported, so I guess mom and the other rescuer are ok. *whew* That had me worried for a minute. That is one TINY baby!
