Army of Mom

So this is how liberty dies ... with thunderous applause.

Monkey bars, bubbles and granny, oh my!

A week ago, we took the kids to my mom's house to stay all night, so honey and I could go out for our anniversary. We wound up going to my favorite BBQ joint, Red Hot and Blue, and to a friend's house for game night. The kids love spending time at Granny and Papa's because of the vast open spaces and kid-friendly environs. The skies were glorious and perfect for outdoor time. Pickle's dad came and got him, so he missed out on the outdoor fun.

This tire swing has seen some good use. Pickle rode it when he was he was little, too.
Funny, that lawn furniture and the toy boat and castle were among my possessions as a kid, too. I spent many summer days hanging out in that chair. The Little People toys have to be at least 30 years old.

Army of Dad was shocked that I let the kids climb that high. When Hot Rod was Stinkebelle's size, I was a hovering mom. I've learned to relax a little bit. Not a lot, but a little.

Don't look now, but mom has the camera again.

I loved the glowing ear effect here.

"I'm the king of the world!"

"Freeze, mister! Drop that gun!"

And, on the front porch with Granny.

I hope they fondly remember these days. I remember my days playing at my granny's house as some of my favorite memories.
