Army of Mom

So this is how liberty dies ... with thunderous applause.

Everybody was kung fu fighting

Man, I love that song.

The boys had their karate tournament Sunday. You either win first or you win second in your sparring match. Pickle won his match 3-0 and Hot Rod lost his 1-3. Poor Hot Rod. He was kicking ass at class Friday until he got in trouble for tagging the other kids too hard. So, he was very apprehensive with his skills and sparring because he was afraid he'd be disqualified. I was afraid he'd be like that. Bless his heart. He doesn't know how to do things halfway.

Pickle getting pumped up.

And getting ready to spar. Uzz has some nice pictures of the match. It was over so quickly, I got nothing.

He is so proud of himself and that is really good for his self esteem. He was coaching his little brother before his match, which was good.

I bought the boy a new uniform, too. Look at how he has grown! I don't want him to look like this poor boy.

But, I digress.

Hot Rod never looked ready to me.

But, he will figure it out. He was happy to get his plaque and see his grandparents.

We will have another tournament in a few months, so he'll have a chance to do it again.

That kid in the jeans needs to be studying karate, not watching it!

My guess is that it isn't actually parked there. They are leaving the field where they parked.

They were pulling out ... in typical Texas style, we park on the grass if it means we have to walk a half-mile to get somewhere. Grass be damned, I don't want to stretch my legs.

Sigh.....sunlight, short sleeves, SUVs, and parking lots. That REALLY made me homesick! :)
