SPF: Holy

Kristine at Random and Odd made an SPF assignment this week focused on HOLY. It is a good selection as today is Good Friday and one of the most holy days in the Christian faith with Easter being the big daddy (pun intended) of all our holidays.

The Virgin Mary statue is in my front garden. I thought it was really pretty alongside the blooming (and on their way to wilting) azalea. It was just really pretty to me. Every year at Easter, my garden is in full bloom almost as if it is honoring God and the sacrifice made for us.

I took this picture last September at the Oklahoma City bombing memorial. The statue of Jesus weeping with his back to the site of the bombing is very touching.
So, did you play? Holy Cow, I'm going to the Rangers home opener today, too. It makes it Good Friday on many fronts!!!

I played! I was going to do a Virgin Mary statue in my neighbor's yard as well but I thought I better not considering I don't know them and they may call the cops... oops. Love the OK City pic!

Good SPF! Don't you just love the azaleas? I have two tiny ones we just planted last year in my yard and they look so pretty. I'm a newbie to The South so I'm impressed with everything!

    Thanks for stopping by.

Your Virgin Mary statue is beautiful. I didn't know about this statue of Jesus at the OKC memorial. It touches me, especially knowing how many little children were lost there. Thanks for stopping by!

I've never seen that - beautiful. And how nice to have Mary in your garden ...
reminded me of many years ago in school, month of May, wanting to be chosen to bring her a fresh crown of flowers.

Your azaleas are gorgeous. Mine are weeks away, I'm sure. If you think 54 degrees is bad for opening day- we were in the thirties this week when we had opening day for our farm team, the Indianapolis Indians. Maybe one day we'll get a pro team too!

Happy SPF and thanks for stopping by mine.

I wish my azaleas would bloom! I think I need to feed them something! Beautiful photo, and a touching one of Jesus at the bombing site. So sad, I remember that day well.

    Happy SPF & Happy Easter!
