Army of Mom

So this is how liberty dies ... with thunderous applause.

On the bright side

The pain has subsided a bit since the infected spot burst this morning. It isn't shooting out stuff like the original infection did in the front. This is on my left hip where the doctor had to dig the staple out because it got bent and embedded.

So, I'm not leaking profusely, a bandage can cover it up comfortably. The plastic surgeon's nurse told me to call back the infectious disease (shuddering at that title) doctor and make an appointment. They're going to try and get me in Monday afternoon. *sigh* Nurse at plastic surgeon's office said I'm doing everything I can, but no more sit-down baths. Resume showers. *double sigh* I hate showers.

At least I'll be on site all day with a very funny video crew and work should pass quickly. Hopefully Army of Dad can fix the car for less than $200 and take care of that today.

Things are going to get better. I figure they pretty much have to. We have friends coming over tonight, so at least I have something to look forward to there.

I can't believe this is still happening to you. I think I am angry at the people "practicing" medicine on you. I hope the get it right soon. I hope you feel better.

No pus pictures. I thought about it briefly and decided that is too gross, even for me! Hell I don't want to look at it. Just sucks. I think this may be a totally different strain of infection and it could be a stupid layman's look on things, but the stuff coming out of this wound is significantly different consistency, color, etc. than what came out of the last infection. So, I'm hoping that means that it is something else and oral antibiotics will suffice this time.

    *crossing my fingers*

You seem to be learning to use nurse's observation skills. You might have a job moonlighting as one sometime.
    Good luck with simple antibiotics.
I can't remember the last time I had an actual bath. I don't like sitting there with all that wet dirt swimming around me. It's been showers for years, the best way to go.
