Army of Mom

So this is how liberty dies ... with thunderous applause.

It seems to never end

This is so awful. The health threats are almost incomprehensible. I saw on the local morning news how several of babies from New Orleans were airlifted to local hospitals and some of the parents didn't even know where their babies were. God help them.

I fear what the financial fallout from this is going to be. A local financial expert at UNT said the financial trickle-down is likely to be even worse than the one 9/11 called.

God help us.

they had to delay evacs from the Superdome due to people firing on the buses and refugees...its just crazy!!! One bus full of nursing home patients being evacuated was carjacked and the gang members forced the elderly people off the bus and filled it with their own people and took off...gang members roaming about with AK-47s...thankfully the National Guard is there and now maybe some control can be restored!

I realize that desperate people do desperate things, but COME ON PEOPLE !! I can understand being so freaked out that you need food, water and even some dry clothing that you take or loot what you need.I can really understand that. They have no place to turn right now. If I had to do it to feed my family, I would. But to steal a big screen TV???? and have 14 pairs of sneakers wrapped around your neck??? WTF?? Are you just going to push it around in your floaty and say " look what I have ". No eletricity , no water. These material possessions are of no use right now. They should be worried about food, clothing, medical supplies. It is like a war zone. These people are behaving like animals. What happened to helping each other out? Shooting at someone trying to help you? Insane. My heart goes out to these people, it really does. It breaks my heart, but I draw the line at the pathetic low lifes who are basically terrorizing everyone. I could go on, and on, and on and on

I don't begrudge anyone getting necessities of life - medication, food and the like. I just don't understand the people stealing DVD players when there is no electricity. Can't tell me that he really needed that. Gees.
