Wow, we don't get Columbus Day off in Indiana any more. Then again, the kids get way too many days off school as it is.

I don't suppose we really "celebrate" Columbus today. It is one of those days to enjoy a break from the routine. *shrug*

You don't talk about columbus day here because of the "horrors" he brought to the native americans. Of course he also brought the horse which lead to the Golden age of the Native American...but we don't talk about that because then we'd be wrong.
