The agony of defeat

Well, it looks like me and my big mouth are going to lose the Weblog Awards and thems the breaks.

I'm about 65 behind now, whereas I was up by 70 last night before bed. So, the weblog awards elves were hard at work for The Hole Card and The Mazurland Blog overnight. *shrug*

Was nice to be in the lead for 95 percent of the race and next time I'll learn to keep my big mouth shut and maybe the blogger bullies won't pay any attention to this insignificant little blog and I could have had the playground honor of saying I won. For now, I'll just be happy that I finished in the top three. Again.

Still time to vote for me to make it presentable, if you don't mind.

I was wondering why our vote count was accelerating over the last few days... We were always in the hunt, but things seemed to pick up quite a bit this week.
If this accounts for some of our votes, we at Mazurland want no part of it.
Currently you're ahead of us, and given this news, I hope it stays that way. Our blogs have very different styles, and the spirit of the Awards is such that people should be voting FOR something, not against something else.
Looks like Hole Card got a HUGE boost overnight, but who knows... the votes still need to be examined.

Here's a thought, don't be so petty. This comment was ridiculous. Write your blog and stop acting like you're 15.

    P.S. Happy Holidays.

"By the way, I'm stirring up more shit on my blog by bringing up that Cotillion bitch. Come on and join the party.

In any case, The Hole Card is a well-done blog. Bravo, THC.

Well ... so much for my conspiracy theory.

    Damn.

Another Mazurlander chimes in. It seems like there's been a bit of collateral damage because of whatever idiotic voting campaign is going on. Mazurland and Hole Card got a veiled accusation of cheating at the Weblog Awards summary of poll changes because of this. It's definitely soured our experience of the process, though we had fun discovering new blogs and haranguing friends to vote for us. We've requested that people stop voting on our site.

...and anon accuses AoM of acting like a 15 YO! LOL

(using this only to point out the hypocrisy)

Well it takes one to know one!

    *sticks tongue out*
    /example of childish behavior

Mazurland people: Sorry you got caught up in this. I haven't checked out your blog yet, but I will eventually. I also like THC.

Anon, wow, you must be bored enough to go scouring through comments to find that. But, bravo. You found it. I had even forgotten about that. And, at least I was right that I hadn't said it on my blog. I didn't think I did. And, on the childish scale, well ... I never claimed to be grown up so... it takes one to know one! *sticking out my tongue*

Mazurland brothers - don't let this sour your experience. I know you guys didn't cheat and I'm sorry if someone accused you of it. It all started because I'm a silly emotional little gal who was a little perturbed over something stupid and I am stupid enough not to know when to shut up. *shrug*

And, Anon, one more thing. Happy Hannukah to you, too! That was pretty clever. I would find it more amusing if you actually revealed who you are, but then again, it wouldn't be as much fun for you then, would it? Much more fun to be an anonymous troll. If you don't like my 15-year-old blog, don't come over. Right? I mean, I don't bother going to blogs I don't like. I have better things to do with my time. Oh, wait, I get it now. You don't.

And, The Hole Card and Mazurland are definitely worthy of winning the best blog. I'll be visiting them regularly.
