Damned hanging chads

Well, it looks like hanging chads aside, some votes were excluded as excessive voting from a few particular IP addresses and by default that now makes me the winner of the Best 5001 to 6750 Blog.

Thanks to Mike at Education Intelligence Agency and Intercepts (one of my competitors) for pointing out the final results to me.

Funny, how after winning by discounting votes and such, it doesn't feel like much of a victory because I feel badly for the competition. It isn't their fault. I truly don't believe anyone in our category cheated. I hope it wasn't an unfortunate mishap by different work stations all on one IP address.

But, thanks to all who voted for me and gave me their support.

Many thanks. The win is sort of deflated ... and I feel bad for the others who finished in the top 3.

Yeah, you're right. While I'm happy for you ... the whole thing has just an anti-climactic weirdness.

Yeah, I like the Hole Card, too. I did take down the link because I got the impression that they didn't want anything to do with me any more and that is unfortunate. I think they have a fun little blog. I think it is sad about the votes, too. I didn't even know about the vote count thing until someone else told me. I was happily in second place and had conceded to THC. But, yeah, I got the feeling that they're not happy with me and I'm sorry for that.

I'll have to agree. They never had the lead until the Cooties entered the picture. They should get over it.

Congrats on your win ... take them any way you can get 'em (sans cheating, of course). I feel bad for THC; they didn't know that their victory was questionable, and to have it taken away must have hurt. But you won, fair and square. Not like you challenged the results, or demanded a recount, or anything.

Thank you MG. The way the voting went sort of took the wind out of my sails. But, you're right. I didn't question the results when I thought I finished second. *shrug*

It had to suck for THC. I don't think they did anything, I think it was a conspiracy of another group and he was the unfortunate victim as much as I was (at the time it was going on).
