Love - 15

My eldest has taken up tennis. His dad always played tennis and I tried my hand at it in my youth and wasn't awful, but have long since forgotten most of what I learned. So, twice a week for an hour at a time, we haul up to the city's Parks and Rec tennis courts and Pickle takes lessons with a handful of other kids. Barbie is his teacher. Ok, so her name isn't Barbie. At least, I don't think it is. It is probably something cute like Jamie or Teena or something really cutesy. I think I know why my entering-puberty-son likes tennis so much.

He knew he was being photographed, so he stopped keeping his eye on the ball and had it more on me and missed the next shot.

and his cutey patootey tennis teacher:

No comments about backhands, ok? I'm surprised AoD and Uzz haven't been taking the boy to tennis.

Wow. Cutie-patootey is a bit of an understatement, isn't it?

As a former entering-puberty-son myself, I have to gently wonder whether Barbie is really the best choice to be the boy's tennis teacher. I played pretty well as a lad 30 years ago -- but I know wouldn't have been able to hit the ball worth a damn if I'd been across the net from her.
