He's got an edge
Kasey Kahne will be in the No. 4 position lined up on the second row for the Dickies 500 on Sunday.
TMS head honcho Eddie Gossage said he thinks Kasey or Matt Kenseth will take the checkered flag. So far, no one has been a repeat winner at TMS in its 10-year history. If Kasey or Matt win, they'll be the first. Also, AoD's fave, Jeff Gordon, has never won at TMS. It could be his year, too.
Kasey led the fastest lap in practice today. The car is going to look hot this weekend.

You can better believe I'll be in my Dodge Motorsports T-shirt and wearing my No. 9 Kasey Kahne visor on Sunday. Let's just pray that the rain stays away until Sunday night. My dearly beloved likes to call my racer a "one trick" driver who only excels on the oval tracks. Well, even if that is the case, this is his kind of track. He won here in April.
The pre-race events look fun, too, with recreations of Lightning McQueen, Sally and Mater kicking off things. A special tribute to Texas native Terry Labonte, who is running his last race, will be part of the events as well as Van Zant (brothers Johnny and Donnie Van Zant from Lynyrd Skynyrd and .38 Special) will perform. We'll also see skydive performances by the U.S. Army Golden Knights, Red Bull and RE/MAX teams and a fly-over by F-22 jets out of Langley Air Force Base in Hampton, Virginia. I hope I can drag my tired ass out of bed Sunday morning to get to TMS in time for all the festivities. Depends on how much I "celebrate" on Saturday night.

Be honest, doesn't it get boring and a little dizzy watching them race around and around and around the track?

Nah, it never gets boring. There are wrecks to spice things up and the drunk rednecks are fun to watch, too.
But, the best thing for me is to pick a racer - Kasey Kahne is my fave and I have a few others that I like, too - and watch the racer make his way through the pack. It is WAY more fun to have a few cars you pick out to watch and see their progress. Without that, I think it would get boring.
Oh yeah, and going to the races involves drinking heavily. ;) Seriously, I didn't drink at the one race I've been to because the kids were with us. I might drink a bit tomorrow. We'll see. It will help me stay warm if nothing else. :)
