Army of Mom

So this is how liberty dies ... with thunderous applause.

about 13 hours to go

This shouldn't be as bad as the mammogram was. *sigh* I'm going in at 8:45 a.m. Saturday for a sonogram on my left breast for "further studies." Whatever the hell that means. Hopefully it means they're just going to take my money and tell me my boobs look great.

If it helps at all, I just went through this. Actually, I've been going through it for almost a year now. They did the mammogram, then an ultra sound, then they checked again. The doctor said she thinks its a cyst but they want to keep checking it "to make sure its doing what a cyst should do". And what if it doesn't then what? and will you tell me? Apparently, the answer is "no". I have since returned to the Women's Wellness Clinic for two more mammograms and ultrasounds. I just received a letter a week ago saying they are pretty sure it isn't cancer (notice they didn't say "we are sure its a cyst") but they want a mammogram of both of my breasts in 6 months.

I meant that to be comforting but maybe it wasn't. My point was that just because its taking longer doesn't mean bad news is on the way. It actually means it probably isn't bad. When my partner had a questionable mass in her breast, we received phone calls from the doctor, the tech, the nurse...but I usually get my results by mail. Only urgent news comes quickly.
