Happy Birthday

Today is my eldest son's 11th birthday. Gosh, that makes me feel old. I still remember the first time I saw his face and touched his little head. I was strapped down from a c-section and the nurse brought him over for me to see and I touched the top of his little head with my fingertips. I was in love immediately with the cone-headed bloody baby. I joked with the nurse that I was going to name him Zoltar. It just seemed like a conehead name to me. Bless his heart, the doctor thought I needed to poop when I was having back labor and told me to push. This is the result. A coneheaded c-section baby. Pretty sad, but he got over it quickly and turned into one of the most beautiful creatures I have ever seen.

Uzz took this shot last year just before his 10th birthday, but it is a beautiful portrait of our boy. He gets those green eyes from me, I'm proud to say. He gets his skin color from my dad. The round cheeks belong to his father.

Happy birthday sweet boy. Mama loves you more than words can convey.

I can't believe it's been 11 years since I said "Goddamnit, you can't even feel your feet. I'm leaving the pillows where they are."

    :)

I believe it was my legs and not my feet that you were damning that day. But, I digress ...

old friends are the best friends ... and I mean that in all the ways it can be taken!

    You missed me! Ha ha.

    *doing the dance of love*

Ow, you didn't have to throw the other shoe.

They do grow up way too fast. I think he had a good weekend for his birthday. He got rich, too. He got almost $100 all together between gift cards, cash and checks!!! Man, wish I made out like that on my bday!! He is loved by so many.
