Stuff Portrait Friday - My past, present and future

Stuff Portrait Friday's assignment was something from my past, my present and my future with the caveat that we can't use our kids in any of the shots.

Random and Odd has some good ones in the comments today. Here is my best effort completely concocted while hanging out at my house working and doing laundry.

My Past

The towel was a high school graduation gift that my kids use now. The denim overalls are one of those outfits that all three kids have worn, as is evidenced by the knee-stains. I had to have those when Pickle was 2. I loved it and so have all three kids.

My Present

Laundry to put away. That is a constant daily chore with three active kids.

My Future

This one is probably self-evident, but I hope and pray that I'll be fotunate enough to get into Heaven when I die.

You still have a towel from back in the day? Must be high quality fabric. Mine sure didn't last that long, even going into garage rags.
And to have all three children wear the same pair of overalls is something, too.

The other evening, I went into the Campus Religious Center for a meeting.
Someone had turned around the picture of the Crucifixion, even in the Religious Center itself. I'm glad to know you have a cross up as a reminder that it does get better from here.

I still have towels that I got as H.S. graduation gifts, but they're in the rag pile now--that's how old I am.

That last pic was quite the shift in mood from the laundry photos! But I agree with the sentiment.

    Have a great weekend!

OMG! I almost took a picture of the washer and dryer for my 'present' too...seriously FIVE kids...SEARS doesn't make enough towels for our family!!

*hug* if you don't make it to heaven, we can have fun trying to sneak in with a group of nuns or something ;)

The towel is from 1987, just FYI. It is a decent towel, but I have always been lucky to have many towels, so I seldom truly wear one out. Other towels I got for graduation are all in the garage to be used for spills, covering plants during a freeze, etc. Now, my hand towels and washcloths from 1987 are all in the rag bin to be used for cleaning.

And, it was funny how I was just sitting in my office/family room and thought what reflects my past, present and future in here. I did it in the span of five minutes. Just too easy. The laundry is neverending here.

And, I love those overalls. It is funny, I NEVER pay full price for anything. Ok, very very rarely. Certainly not for kids' clothes, but I gave $18 for the overalls at JC Penney back in 1996 because I wanted those for my boy. They've been a good investment!
