Through the years

It was 37 years ago today that I was born. Mom said it was a Thursday morning.

Looking through photo albums, I found pics of a few birthdays past.

Here is my first birthday. That is my brother behind me and my cousin in front. That is my grandmother in the back. Her birthday is Nov. 8. This picture reminds me of Pickle and Stinkerbelle.

My kids have used that same high chair. Made to last, I think, because my brother used it, too. This picture of me and my brother was taken four days later. He was 10 1/2 in the picture. He is tall and blonde. I'm short and brunette. Gotta love genetics.

Below is my second birthday. I still have that little yellow robe.

Here is Cowgirl AoM. I can see where Hot Rod gets his knobby knees. I don't have them anymore. *sigh* I loved my Shirley Temple curls.

Now, my birthday in the fourth grade. That is me in the front with the white shirt and white clippies. The boy in the far right with the striped shirt holding his cup up - my cousin killed his dad. Lovely, huh? You can see LaLa (who comments on here occasionally) on the far left in the back.
My birthday cake from my 14th birthday. Was great. We had the party at Putt Putt. I loved Garfield. I thought it was funny when Pickle was hooked on him, too.

And, my cake from 20 years ago - on my 17th. I fell in love with penguins in the ninth grade. Now, my kids love penguins, too. It is so great!

And my birthday party in Ms. B's journalism class my senior year in high school. It was great: cake, soda and ice cream!!! My mom was so good to make my birthdays special.

I think I'll make myself a german chocolate cake for my birthday this year. Going to meet Army of Dad for lunch. Maybe I'll go spend that Barnes and Noble card Kat gave me, too. Hmm. A movie? I think I can give myself the day off. Maybe.

A most happy birthday to you, AoM!
Wild to go down memory lane sometimes, innit? It can feel like "just yesterday" or "eons ago", depending. "On what", I don't really know...

Hey guys, Mike is a rocket scientist. I wonder what the cotillion girls would say about that? I can't be too low brow, huh? Ha! Take that!

Oh yeah...a rocket scientist is in the house! As it turns out, I am reading a book called "Great Mambo Chicken & the Transhuman Condition" by Ed Regis. I have just finished reading about Bob Truax and I am getting into a section on Gerry O'Neill...fascinating stuff!!! It full of talk about rockets and other science that would be considered odd by the average Joe...which would be me:-)

    OK...back to B-Day mode!
