Baseball legend heads home

Army of Dad's favorite player of all time, Kirby Puckett, died today.

Puckett led the Twins to World Series wins in '87 and '91 and was a helluva player. Baseball lost a great one today.

The Metrodome is located at 34 Kirby Puckett Way in Minneapolis. We'll be there this summer and it will be bittersweet. I got AoD a Puckett autograph from the Twins organization in 2001. I think the sentimental value just increased.

I got a lot of teary when I heard about it while driving. I am right there with AoD on this one...he was right up there with my fave players of my lifetime. His love of the game was infectious and he never let anyone tell him he could not succeed. R.I.P. Kirby and thanks for all the amazing memories!

I didn't know anything about him, but god, he was only 45.

He will always be my favorite player. I can still see some of his best plays in my head.

Sadly, my dad will now never get his frivolous wish that Kirby Puckett be elected World Governor!
