Think pink

Last year on Mother's Day, my buddy LabKat provided my family with free tickets to the Rangers game. I took my mom and my kids with me. The Rangers gave all the women pink Rangers t-shirts. I love mine and wear it all the time.

Today, Major League Baseball instituted "a weeklong initiative designed to create awareness about breast cancer and the importance of early detection as well as raise funds to help fight the disease."

Major League Baseball had special Mother's Day programs at all 15 home ballparks. Players wore pink wristbands and pink ribbons for breast cancer awareness were displayed on player uniforms as well as on all on-field personnel. Specially designed pink bats, supplied by Louisville Slugger, were used by some players and the pink ribbon logo appeared on the bases and on commemorative home plates. Players also checked out the batting orders on pink dugout lineup cards.

It was great watching Jim Thome knock the ball out of the park with a pink bat. (sorry AoD that it had to be against the Twins).

On a completely random baseball note, Hot Rod kept talking about a triple play and asking questions about triple plays and the White Sox mustered one up tonight against the Twins after Hot Rod went to bed.

Is everybody else pretending to overlook the phallic nature of a pink Louisville Slugger?

Or am I just that f-ed up?
