SPF: To everything; turn, turn, turn, there is a season; turn, turn, turn

Kristine at Random and Odd was waxing poetic at the lovely changing of the seasons when she created the Stuff Portrait Friday assignments for the week:
1. Show me your season changing.
2. Show me the beauty of where you call home.
3. Your favorite part of the weather changing.

The season changing:

In Texas, there is a joke that if you don't like the weather, wait a few minutes because it will likely change. We stay warm about 8 months out of the year and occasionally it gets cool like it did today. We didn't get above 63 and people here are bundled up like we're in the artic. These were the clouds blowing in with the cold front this morning. They were really prettier in person.

The beauty of North Texas:

I love our downtown square. It is beautiful and during the Christmas holidays, it is especially remarkable. I love taking the kids down for the parade and tree lighting ceremony.

My favorite part of the weather changing:

Playing outside with long pants and long sleeves and the comfortable temperatures. We're lucky to have a really wonderful climate (ok, I can say that now that the 90-degree days appear to be over). When it isn't unbearably hot, it is really pretty comfortable the rest of the year. We only get bitter cold a handful of times during the winter. The rest of the time, the kids are comfy in jeans or even shorts with a sweatshirt. I love the fall: my absolute favorite time of the year.

So, did you play?

Texas? Bah! It's all happening in the Dakotas, but power to you for state pride. My flight instructor is from Texas, I give him crap all the time.

Nice sky pic! There is nothing like a good angry sky photo!

As for downtown...I have to agree...it really is a cool little square! The community really turns out for the holiday parades and they have other great little events throughout the year...though their parking situation can suck during some of the bigger events!

I played this week also, so come on by!

Happy SPF! Thanks for stopping by mine.
Downtown square is really pretty... I can see why you go there, esp. around Christmas time :)

I also love seasons when you can comfortably walk around in long pants and sweaters... it's not too hot and not too cold ;)

Very nice SPF. Your town square Christmas scene is beautiful! You're lucky to live in a place where the climate is so nice much of the year. Ours is known for its rain here in western Oregon.

    Thanks for stopping by.

I love the town square pic! When I lived in East Texas, we used to go to Tyler to see the lights and it was always gorgeous!

Thanks for stopping by mine! Happy SPF!

I think your saying about "Don't like the weather? Wait. It'll change," has some variation in a lot of parts of the country. I know it applies to my home in upstate New York, as well as in southwest Virginia where I'm going to school.

    I played!

Bitter cold? Bitter cold? Aha ha ha! Excuse me while I laugh.

    Seriously though...

Aren't moderate temperatures nice? Gotta love that 'in between' stuff!

    Beautiful clouds. Cute kids.

    Thanks for dropping by!

Hey, that sky looks like our Florida sky. But it rains and then gets sunny. I like the 2nd pictures. Very nice.
