Random disgusting thought

I apoligize in advance. Don't read this if you're eating or easily disturbed.

Why is it that doctors don't tell us stuff or pamphlets don't explain things in detail?

Where I'm going with this is that at my last annual exam when the doc asked how things were going with me, I mentioned that I often get diarrhea when I'm on my period. He looks at me blankly and says "Oh, that is very common because of (insert big-worded explanation that went over my head here)."

I was 37 and this was the first time I had ever heard this. All my adult(ish) life, I thought I was damaged (keep your comments to yourself) and come to find out that this is normal. *sigh*

Unfortunately, I didn't have the diarrhea ... I have the opposite problem right now.

Ick. Where is the Milk of Magnesia?
