I'm calling BS

I am SOOOO calling bullshit on this one. I'm 5'2 and don't weigh 200 pounds and this woman claims she only weighs 200? Uh-uh. No way. Just don't tell anyone your weight or simply embrace the number if you're going to *ahem* reveal it. Don't act like you're coming clean on your weight and then lie about it. Looking around on the Web and everything points to Oprah being 5'7. Uh, honey. I am just not buying the 200 pounds at 5'7. And, before people start ragging on me, I'm not a tiny gal and I don't disclose my weight. That's my privilege and it is hers as well, but if you're going to "come clean" about the number, why lie? Unless she has lost weight since this September photo, I'm not buying 200 pounds and 5'7.

One of the benefits (drawbacks?) of being a "plus-sized" person is that you are intimately aware of how many pounds you can pack on a frame, and you carry memories of all your previous sizes. So, when I see a guy with a 54" waist and he says he only weighs 280, I know quite well he's full of shit.

Muscle weighs more than fat, and after a lifetime of hauling around the flab, most hefty folks have a pretty solid foundation under all the bacon grease. As such, they can weigh 20% more than they think they do.

Scale avoidance is also an issue. I quit climbing on them when it got too depressing to watch the dial spin so fast it started smoking...

BTW... word verification phrase is "larderri", short for "Lardaceous derriere", which I certainly have.

Um... *clears throat* When you're taller, you can actually carry a lot more weight. 200 doesn't carry the same. I know this from very intimate experience. The last time I was weighed, they had to use smelling salts to bring me back around.

She COULD be 200. It's not that big a stretch. However, I didn't see her step on the scales.

I'm 140 at 5'7", and considered to be "slender". In envisioning another 60 lbs on me, I'd be lucky if it were distributed the same. I'm much more of a pear shape.

I dunno... I think it's possible that she's telling the truth, within 5 lbs. or so. And if she's like me... whenever she's not wearing jeans, she's in Spanx. There is not a day that goes by I don't wear those if I'm in trousers.
