The Virgin Mary

I got an email from my sister-in-law tonight of precious pictures of my nephews and niece in the church Christmas pageant. Child No. 1 was Joseph, Child No. 2 was a shepherd and Child No. 3 was in the Angel Chorus. They looked absolutely, well, angelic.

It reminded me of the TWO times I played the Virgin Mary in Christmas pageants at church. One was at a church down the street from where I lived and one was at some Sunday School event. The funny thing about that was that my friend, who comments here as LaLa, was a donkey at the Sunday School one. I vividly remember that about her because I gave her much shit. Maybe I was an angel at that one. *shrug* Regardless, I'm sure the old church ladies might have reconsidered their Virgin Mary choice if they knew me today. I'm far from the woman selected to bear the Son of God. But, I remember being honored then and I was just a wee lass. It is still one of those things that I remember fondly.

Me- the Virgin Mary.

What has the world come to.

LaLa, I was wrong. I went and dug out the pictures. You were an angel with me. It was your cousin - my best friend - who was the donkey.

I laughed hysterically when I dug out the picture. You and I were actually angels and she was the donkey. If I can find it again in the next few days (I shoved it back in the box), I'll scan it and email it to you!
