Sony's lack of balls and other things that piss me off

You know, I continue to be amazed at how people bow to the concept of being PC and not offending anyone. I don't intentionally go out of my way to piss people off, but if you don't like what I have to say, don't listen. It is pretty simple.

The whole uproar over the Danish satirical cartoons featuring the Muslim prophet is just part of it. I have to say that if I rioted and burned buildings down, etc, every time someone said or did something that was disrespectful of Christianity, Christ or Judaism, then I'd be pissed off and in the streets all the time. Seriously. How many rock stars use upside crosses or depict offensive slogans like pissing on a crucifix? I've seen them. Did I like them? No. Did I chose to buy a CD with that on there? Nope. Did I burn down the record label for doing it? No. Did I call for some kind of holy war? Not that I recall. Jews are depitcted pretty regularly by some faiths (and I use the term loosely) as blood-hungry evil-doers. That makes me laugh. Most of the Jewish folks I know are pacifists and democrats and work really hard to be PC and understanding of other peoples. Pretty much, they want to be left alone to live and let live.

Anyway. I've been pissed off about this stuff for the past week and I'm sure all of my very PC friends will tell me tht I'm being insensitive to peoples of other faiths. Bullcrap. I respect everyone's rights to worship as they wish. But, there comes a point when enough is enough. Why is their faith so much more important than anyone else's? It isn't. But, these people think they are better than everyone else and no one has a right to criticize their faith. Hell, no one has a right to even talk about their faith. And, their tactics are working. Case in point, some Thai rap star used verses from the Koran in a recording and now Sony's lack of testicles are leading them to not only apologize for inadvertently insulting this faith, but they are going to destroy all the CDs with the song on it.

I'm assuming Joey Boy is afraid of being decapitated on Al Jazeerah and Sony is is afraid of their HQ being burned down. Wow, I guess those tactics are working.

I imagine I simply rambled here and didn't make a coherent thought, so let me summarize:
I don't like a lot of editorial cartoons, but they communicate opinions of the artist/author.
If you don't like a cartoon, there are many things you can do like write a letter to the editor, don't buy the paper, encourage people you know not to buy the paper, you can even write to the advertisers and tell them you're disappointed that they support this publication. You don't burn down buildings that have nothing to do with the paper.
I encourage people to be grown up and understand we all have differing opinions, beliefs and viewpoints. We don't have to like them, but we should be big enough to move on and let it go.
If you're offended, don't take to the streets.
And, lastly, don't bow down to the assholes who do take to the streets. When you do that, they win.

Of course shooting the little rampaging bastards would provide us with some sport so it wouldn't be all bad.

Sometimes I find it so funny. I think there has been two or three times we posted on the same thing. Even to the point one time when i was down and frustrated i had said in my blog i felt like an animated scribble and your post that day was about you being down and you had a picture of an animated scribble and you said that is how you felt. It was just kinda funny to post on the same things and not know it. But on this subject I totally agree with you and like I said before reading your post I posted about it myself on my site. I am so tired of everyone bowing down to these people. They can do whatever they want and get away with it. I have never seen any other religions who got so fired up to bomb buildings because their panties are in a wad. I wish we would all stand up to these people so that maybe one day they would know how unacceptable they are acting. I am sorry for such a long comment, I will try not to in the future put such a long comment in

I'm with AoD on this one, and it increasingly seems as though we'd better get on with it sooner rather than later, because later could be a whole lot more difficult.

We have, unfortunately, not quite three years before some hand-wringer succeeds Bush in the White House, so we'd best get started. Go ahead, let the Angry Left try to impeach him. They'd never get the votes.

As long as all the Muslims in North Dallas, Carrollton and Richardson act like they have been -- which is to say with politeness and mutual respect -- they're welcome here 100% in my book.

The day they start burning things is the day they find out what fucking state they're in. It'll give a whole new meaning to "red state."

But I don't expect any trouble. The ones I come in contact with all seem to be just trying to make a living and send their kids to good schools and stuff *shrug*

I put this in the same category with so-called christians who bomb abortion clinics. Your right to believe in something doesn't not give you the right to kill people over it.

And, I may be moving to Denmark. :)
