Super Bowl Blues

Less than a month away and the Super Bowl will be held here in North Texas. This has been a banner past few months for sporting events. We had the World Series and now this. *alas* I'm not made out of money, so I will attend neither. But, the hoopla is certainly enjoyable. Tonight, my mom and I took a tour of Cowboys Stadium as part of an event I was covering for work. It was really pretty fun. We had our picture taken in the Cowboys locker room. Also, no mostly naked DeMarcus Ware or Tony Romo wandered by. Definitely my loss. More pictures to come.

Change of Plans

I love it when companies send me goodies to enjoy and share with others. Walmart  and Proctor & Gamble sent me some fun stuff for a recent made-for-TV movie called "A Walk in my Shoes" and now they've sent me another for "Change of Plans."

This new flick comes out on Saturday Jan. 8 at 8/7c on Fox. And, boy, oh boy ... the topic of the movie is one that will hit you hard. I've thought about things like this before, but to imagine it happening to you would be a combination of so many emotions, I can't begin to wrap my head around it.

Synopsis from P&G/Walmart:
"Change of Plans" is a humorous and heartwearming story that reveals how fulfilling life can be when you look beyond your own plans and invest in the lives of others. Up to this pint, Sally Danville's (Brooke White of American Idol) life has played out just as she has hoped it would. She's a free-spirited muscian married to fighter-pilot Jason (Joe Flanigan of Stargate Atlantis). They live life on the go, free of domestic responsiblities until they get a phone call from a caseworker, Dorothy (Phylicia Rashad of The Cosby Show) telling her that her college best friend has died in a tragic accident on a Peace Corps mission and named Sally as the legal guardian of her four kids (three of them adopted from third-world countries.) Now, Sally and Joe must quickly learn to parent and help the kids deal with the culture clash of life in America.

Sounds like a good flick.

Any of you interested in having your very own "Change of Plans" viewing kit along with the DVD and CD soundtrack (produced by music mogul Randy Jackson)?
GIVEAWAY CHANGED: For the giveaway, it's a fleece blanket as well as all the P&G/Walmart family movies to date. That's three family movies: "Secrets of The Mountain", "Jenson Project" and "A Walk in My Shoes". Unfortunately, the DVD for “A Change of Plans” will not be hitting the shelves immediately.
Send me an email about a life-changing event in your life and how you managed to deal with it. If you're the winner, I'll ask your permission to publish your story here. I'll try to publish the winner right around the time the movie premiers and the prize will be mailed after the movie airs at 8/7c on Saturday Jan. 8 on Fox.
